It’s been a long journey to arrive in this author’s space, a place where my writer’s dream and storyteller’s heart finally meet. My love of books began at age five, when Betsy the Ballerina captured my imagination. I was hooked, and that moment sparked my lifelong passion.

So where did my career begin? Picture this: Jackson, Tennessee, 1983, a young, ambitious journalist reporting her very first story. It was a thrill, and the start of an award-winning news career that would span forty years. From Macon to Chattanooga, Nashville to Orlando, I’ve covered major local and national stories and interviewed everyone from celebrities to politicians to Prince Harry. (Yes, that Prince Harry.)

But the stories that stayed with me were never the ones about fame. They were the stories of ordinary people whose circumstances pushed them to do extraordinary things for their families and communities. I am deeply grateful to have witnessed the remarkable strength of humanity in the face of adversity.

Perhaps those humbling experiences are what inspired me to publish my first book: a blend of journal, devotional, and storytelling, all with a healthy dose of biblical humor. (Yes, it exists!)
